- 1921 $1 MS61 NGC. Ex: "Col." E.H.R. Green. The 1921 Peace dollar was only the third circulation strike U.S. coin issue struck in high relief. The Saint Gaudens's double eagle with Roman numerals and the 1907 eagle with a knife rim and periods preceded it. This piece displays scattered areas of toning that include shades of tan, silver-blue, golden-brown, and orange. As is often the case, this example reveals an incompleteness of strike. Ex: "Colonel" E.H.R. Green; Green Estate; Partnership of Eric P. Newman / B.G. Johnson d.b.a. St. Louis Stamp & Coin Co.; Eric P. Newman @ $1.50; Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society. Realized $499.38 . Description courtesy of Heritage Auctions, ha.com.

- 1921-D $1 -- Improperly Cleaned -- NGC Details. Unc. The outstanding attribute of this Unc Details 1921-D Morgan is its sharp strike, unusual for the issue. Virtually full detail is apparent throughout, including the hair over Liberty's ear and the eagle's breast feathers. The brilliant surfaces are actually quite attractive. Prospective bidders should not be dissuaded by the NGC disclaimer as the cleaning is not that obvious. Additionally, we can locate no marks worthy of individual mention. In sum, this piece will fit comfortably in a high-grade Morgan dollar collection. Ex: Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society. Realized $199.75 . - 1921 $1 MS65 NGC. The 1921 Morgan dollar was produced in large numbers, using low-relief dies that are visibly different from the issues of 1904 and earlier. The present example is sharply struck, as evidenced by the crisply detailed hair over Liberty's ear and sharpness on the eagle's plumage. And unlike the dull luster seen on many examples of this issue, this deeply toned piece displays strong underlying mint luster. While it is true that collectors have a choice of many thousands of certified 1921 Morgans, this highly appealing coin is worthy of serious consideration. Ex: Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society. Realized $176.25 . Description courtesy of Heritage Auctions, ha.com.
