1872 $1 -- Scratches -- NGC Details. VG. VP-001. The date is bold and most lettering remains intact on this well-worn Seated Liberty dollar, but LIBERTY is completely effaced. A long scratch in the right obverse field and another across the eagle constitute the noted damage. Remnants of a misplaced 2 are barely visible on the edge of the base of the rock above the primary digit.
