- 1846-O 50C Medium Date AU58 NGC. WB-101. Ex: "Col." E.H.R. Green. Like its Philadelphia counterpart, the Medium Date O-mint half dollar is characterized by the bottom of the crosslet of the 4 that just touches the right side of the base of that numeral. Deep gray-blue toning covers each side. There are no obvious marks, and the strike details are just a bit soft, as one would expect from a New Orleans mint product. Ex: "Colonel" E.H.R. Green; Green Estate; Partnership of Eric P. Newman / B.G. Johnson d.b.a. St. Louis Stamp & Coin Co.; Eric P. Newman @ $2.50; Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society. Realized $499.38 . Description courtesy of Heritage Auctions, ha.com.

- 1846 50C Medium Date AU58 NGC. CAC. WB-102. Errant 6. Ex: "Col." E.H.R. Green. All together, there are three AU 1846 Medium Date half dollars in the Eric P. Newman holdings. The date on this example shows faint traces of the 6 underdigit. The reverse die is easily identified by the large "hole" near the top of the first set of vertical stripes. This piece displays pleasing blue-steel toning with hints of amber on both sides. A few minuscule abrasions in the fields do not distract from the attractive toning and are consistent with this grade. Ex: "Colonel" E.H.R. Green; Green Estate; Partnership of Eric P. Newman / B.G. Johnson d.b.a. St. Louis Stamp & Coin Co.; Eric P. Newman @ $2.50; Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society. Realized $558.13 . Description courtesy of Heritage Auctions, ha.com.
