- Continental Currency February 26, 1777 $5 Fr. CC-58. PCGS Very Choice New 64PPQ. This is one of the finest Ben Levy signed notes we have seen. Traditionally, Levy has been collected as a Jewish signer, and his dark black signature is strongly accomplished on this example and not faded as often seen. PCGS has graded just one Ben Levy signed note at Gem New 65. The present note is a wonderful example, with inspiring broad margins and nearly perfect centering on both sides. The printing clarity and immaculate paper surface are perfect. The Ben Levy note we sold in Newman Part VI, a November 2, 1776 $4 in PCGS Choice New 63, exceeded its estimate and sold for $1,645. This superior note is worthy of eclipsing that sharp note. Ex: Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society Realized $1527.50. Newman VII (Heritage Auctions, 10/2015), lot 18246. - Continental Currency July 22, 1776 $2 Fr. CC-39. PCGS Choice About New 55PPQ. This is the lowest denomination note from July 22, 1776; the $1 note was eliminated and the $30, first used in the May 10, 1775 Session, returned. This is a very scarce note in high grades, and a strictly Uncirculated example is difficult to obtain. Bright and pleasing, with immaculate paper surfaces, complete margins, and excellent centering. - Continental Currency May 9, 1776 $8 Fr. CC-38. PCGS Gem New 65PPQ. A beautiful May 9, 1776 Resolution $8 note and once the serial number 99011 sheet-mate to the prior $7 denomination. The emblem shows a harp with 13 strings of different sizes to represent the colonies; the motto is MAJORA MINORIBUS CONSONANT (The large colonies and the small colonies are in harmony). Only one note has been graded higher by PCGS. This example is worth examining closely, as some might consider it conservatively graded. The face margins are wide and even, the corners are razor sharp, and the printing is strong. The back is visually stunning, with an impressively detailed nature printing and border frame. Although shifted slightly to the left, there is a considerable margin seen all around. Ex: Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society Realized $3525.00. Newman VII (Heritage Auctions, 10/2015), lot 18244. Description courtesy of Heritage Auctions.

- Continental Currency May 9, 1776 $7 Fr. CC-37. PCGS Gem New 66PPQ. This is another gorgeous May 9, 1776 Resolution note and is the PCGS top population example by two full grades. Their report lists only two PCGS Choice New 64PPQ notes below it. A very fresh, natural note with superb printing on both sides. The image on this denomination is of a severe storm at sea; the motto is SERENABIT (It will be calm). The paper, as made, has a host of blue paper fibers seen on the left face border, entering the emblem just slightly. Very wide face and back margins are seen. The back is slightly shifted over to the left. Otherwise, we believe it would have hopped up one more grade. A beautiful example in all regards. Ex: Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society Realized $3525.00. Newman VII (Heritage Auctions, 10/2015), lot 18243. Description courtesy of Heritage Auctions.

- Continental Currency May 9, 1776 $4 Fr. CC-34. PCGS Superb Gem New 68PPQ. This stunning May 9, 1776 Continental Currency $4 denomination is the finest graded by PCGS by two full grades. Directly below this mesmerizing Boar example are three PCGS Gem New 66PPQ notes. This incredible note dwarfs those and boasts all the characteristics you would demand from a note nearing perfection. The well-inked emblem showing the boar charging into a spear shows the motto AUT MORS AUT VITA DECORA (Either death or an honorable life). Margins beyond ample are perfectly even, and each corner tip is razor sharp. The printing on both sides is vibrant, deep and wondrous to the eye. This is an example for a premium set of Continental Currency notes or for the collector who seeks the very best. Ex: Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society Realized $11750.00.
