Confederate States of America - T45 $1 1862 PF-2, Cr. 342. PCGS Very Fine 30 Apparent. This Blanton Duncan June 2, 1862, series note has an added green protector with large 1 and ornate ONE across. The layout is the same as T44, with a curved title containing a paddlewheel steamboat, Lucy Pickens at the bottom right, and the allegory of Liberty at the left. Second Series. Plate 4. MX - Lot of 61 Wooden Money Items. Eric Newman's reference collection of wooden money items from many states, from east to the far west: Maine to Washington. There is minor duplication, but nearly all are different types. Most are rectangular. The most interesting pieces are the watermelon-shaped colorized wooden nickel and the oyster-shaped wooden coin. Scrip note "essay proof" for 25 cents, printed directly to card, with imprint under right vignette of C.C. Wright del. City Hall is at top center, and Diana the huntress is at right. The left end has a steamboat in an oval die. Style of New York Joint Exchange notes. Trimmed closely, but EF; India paper proof on card, in black on white, for a $100 back design.
