- (Circa-1861) New England Elephant Token Kenney-5, Robinson Copy, Copper MS62 BrownA pleasing representative of this rare Alfred S. Robinson copy. The light tan-brown surfaces are unmarked and exhibit hints of faded mint red in protected regions. Such pieces could not have been made to deceive collectors on the eve of the Civil War, since the semiprooflike fields, delineated ground, and intricate strike are inconsistent with the uncollectible original New England Elephant tokens. Ex: Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society. Heritage Auctions 11/2018 (Newman XI), lot15031 (realized $1080). Heritage link: http://www.ha.com/c/item.zx?saleNo=1283&lotIdNo=11715
