It has a metallic bluish-gray painted body, with polished chrome platform, and red and white number sliders. Manufactured by the Hedman Company, Chicago 14, Illinois. Patents pending. Dimensions are approximately 7.5 x 9.8 x 8.3 inches; with, Circa 1916 Protectograph Check Writer, G.W. Todd & Co., Rochester, NY. This device prints cash amounts in words on checks when operated with the hand crank. Patented in the United States, Canada, and Great Britain; instructions for its use are located inside the machine behind the rollers. Overall Very Good but in need of careful cleaning. Patented on November 27, 1923. This machine was a typewriter-style coin dispenser, with keys that indicated the amount of change to be dispensed, with a number of different combinations of coins available (i.e. the black key marked 25 released a quarter, while the red key marked 25 released two dimes and five cents, etc.). Made from heavy cast iron for stability on a counter, it dispenses 1 mill zinc Missouri sales tax tokens from three of the tubes and uses the fourth tube for 5 mill tokens.
