- Little Rock, AR - Cincinnati & Little Rock Slate Co. $1 Dec. 1, 1854 Rothert 409-1. PCGS Very Fine 30. Notes from this series are a collector favorite due to their artistry. Though defined as a scrip note, the size and engraved designs of this intricate note seem to indicate the company acted as a bank, and notes were paid on demand including at the "Office in New York." This Danforth, Wright & Co. engraved note is printed uniface, without the color back added on the subsequent series. At top center is a wide mining scene. At lower left is the small incorporation seal of the firm. The lower right shows seated America. A handsome type. Ex: Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society, Heritage Auctions Internet Sale (5/2016). (Description courtesy of Heritage Auctions, ha.com.) Realized $123.38
