- Dalton, GA - Planters and Mechanics Bank of Dalton $2 July 1, 1856 DC-150 G6b. PCGS Choice About New 55. The bank was notorious for issuing worthless and hard to redeem notes, attempting to dump many of them in the Midwest, particularly Ottawa, Illinois. The notes had a convincing appearance, and this series was beautifully engraved by Draper, Welsh & Co. A herd of wild horses is at bottom center. At upper left is a well dressed foreman in front of factories. At the lower right, a young lady holds a hen and chicks. A crisp note with a small patch of foxing at the right. Ex: Eric P.
