- Montgomery, VA - Confederate Savings Bank 50 Cents April 1, 1862 Jones & Littlefield PM75-05. PCGS Fine 15 Apparent. We have never cataloged a note from this title, and it was not represented in the NASCA 1983 Affleck Collection sale. At top center is the New York State coat of arms, with the motto EXCELSIOR on the banner. The left end shows a Native American huntress. The title in Gothic is across, bisected by the central vignette, and the obligation is underneath. Noted with "Small Rust Stains at Top Center; Minor Mounting Remnants on Back." Broadly margined and vibrant. A great title and rarity. Ex: Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society, Heritage Auctions Internet Sale (5/2016). (Description courtesy of Heritage Auctions, ha.com.)
