- Halletsville, TX - Treasurer of Lavaca County $1 November 18, 1862 Medlar 6. PCGS Very Fine 20. An excellent type note from this county, and the more frequently encountered series. Printed on white paper. Black printing is in the center with the title, obligation and bold ONE DOLLAR across. The left panel is printed in green with the handwritten serial number in an oblong cartouche. At the right are green dies at top and bottom and a red "1" in between. A drop-shadowed red ONE protector is across. Medlar-listed, but he had little data on this note. The condition is strong, and this will certainly fit well into a top-condition Texas county set. Ex: Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society, Heritage Auctions Internet Sale (5/2016). (Description courtesy of Heritage Auctions, ha.com.) Realized $646.25

- Georgetown, TX - Treasurer of Williamson County $1 October 10, 1862 Medlar UNL. PCGS Fine 12 Apparent. An extraordinary Texas County note, printed on the back of a piece of a partially colored Texas map. The map portion shows the Red River meandering from the lower left to the top center. The title is across the top with obligations underneath, and opulent panels are at each end. A red protector ONE is across. Noted with "Edge Tears and Damage; Pieces Missing; Tape Repairs." The note is a great rarity and the first we have cataloged: including the Bill Bond Collection. The condition probably nets to "Fair," but the map back adds to the intrigue of this note for specialists and collectors of the unusual. Ex: Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society, Heritage Auctions Internet Sale (5/2016). (Description courtesy of Heritage Auctions, ha.com.) Realized $587.50
