- Memphis, TN - City of Memphis - Mayor's Office $2 January 1, 1867 Garland 1300. PCGS Very Fine 20 Apparent. This is another rare post-war municipal note used as currency, and often to make tax payments. Boldly engraved by the American Bank Note Co., N.Y. with a rare central vignette. The portrait shows two women, one with hair adorned by a vine, gazing to the right. At bottom left, sailors are seated on a wharf. At lower right, a dog and safe vignette is shown.
