- Savannah, GA - Atlantic & Gulf Rail Road Company $2 187?. PCGS Fine 12 Apparent. The $2 denomination from this green tint and back series by Continental Bank Note Co. has some less often seen Obsolete note vignettes. The standing female at the left represents tropical Agriculture. At the upper right are field hands picking cotton. The green security back has a large "2" in the center. - Savannah, GA - Atlantic & Gulf Rail Road Company $1 187?. PCGS Fine 12 Apparent. This note is from a colorful green tint and security back series engraved by Continental Bank Note Co. Most of the notes known from this railroad company are well circulated. The scrip was payable for "services" to the company. At upper left is a locomotive in an oval and at the lower left, a cotton boll. The security back has three large "1" counters across the lathe work. Due to circulation, the last digit of the date has faded. There is a "Repaired Edge Tear at the Left" noted by grading. Ex: Eric P. - Rome, GA - Bank of the Empire State $20 Oct. 4, 1860 GA-250 G10c. PCGS Very Fine 25 Apparent. An attractive $20 type from the bank with a less often seen green TWENTY protector at the center. The full American Bank Note Co. imprint is at the bottom edge. Two vignettes are at the top: a train in oval is at the left and two females are shown supporting the Georgia seal at the right. The intricate panel at the left has "XX" in the center. Henry Clay is at the lower right. Noted are "Minor Stains," but this is just modest edge toning. An excellent example of this denomination. This is a much scarcer series from the bank and has a full pink color tint composed of a micro-lettered TWENTY pattern and outlined large 20 protector. At the center is a rare Wellstood imprint vignette of woman in a long scarf. Ethereal allegorical vignettes are in each upper corner. The layout and color are quite mesmerizing on this $20 note.
