- Apalachicola, FL - Commercial Bank of Florida $10 Post Note 18__ FL-5 G36, Benice 25. Remainder. PCGS Very Fine 25 Apparent. This is a pleasing example of a very scarce Post Note series type engraved by Rawdon, Wright, & Hatch. At the top right a steamboat is on the water, with a loaded wagon on the adjacent shore heading down an embankment. The Gothic title across is balanced by a large "10" die at the left. - Washington, DC - National Bank $2 May 1, 1852 DC-300 G14. PCGS Fine 15. This is one of the most distinctive and boldly engraved notes from the District of Columbia. A beautiful layout by Danforth, Bald & Co. has a large projection of the globe displaying North America with an eagle hovering above it. Right of center is a portrait of Henry Clay. Most of the notes known from this title are remainders, but this is a much rarer proof printed on India paper by Draper, Toppan, Longacre & Co. An early view of the United States Capitol building is at the top center. Interesting panels with agricultural goods are at each end and show vignettes in circles. At the left is Liberty and at the right is an eagle. Noted are "Small Edge Tear at LL; Corners Rounded." A sharply printed and attractive proof note. Ex: Eric P. (W.L. Ormsby) also used a peculiar dual-color tinting with rust at the left end and green at the right, creating very distinctive notes. An early locomotive and cars at are at the upper left. A Fillmore portrait is in the lower left corner, and seated Justice is at the right end. The note is solid. The mentioned "Paper Scuffed on Back; Small Rust Stains" are minor flaws to be expected on a Very Good 10 note. Ex: Eric P.
