- 描述:
- Maryland April 10, 1774 $2 Fr. MD-67. PCGS About New 50. This is a high-grade note, and the $2 denomination uses two crude Spanish Dollar counters in the top center of the text. The signatures of Eddis and Clapham are big and bold. As previous, this has the imprint of A.C. and F. GREEN. Well-balanced margins overall. Ex: Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society, Heritage Auctions Internet Sale (1/2017). (Description courtesy of Heritage Auctions, ha.com.) Realized $264.38.

- Maryland April 10, 1774 $1/6 Fr. MD-64. PCGS Very Choice New 64PPQ. An impressive example, boldly printed, and a great condition rarity. The face plate used commas between the Roman numerals as secret marks to deter counterfeiters. The note is well margined and the indented design nearly complete. The imprint is A.C. (Anne Catherine) and F. GREEN (Frederick). Fractional denominations such as this were in great demand, and this virtually as-made note is clearly one of the finest extant. Ex: Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society, Heritage Auctions Internet Sale (1/2017). (Description courtesy of Heritage Auctions, ha.com.) Realized $1410.00.

- Maryland March 1, 1770 $2/3 Fr. MD-54. PCGS About New 58PPQ. This is a beautifully balanced note from a series of Maryland notes where high-grade examples are nearly impossible to locate. The back imprint is interesting, with the imprint of A.C. and W. GREEN (Anne Catherine and William). Anne Catherine was the widow of Jonas Green, and this is one of the few female imprints known on American paper currency. The fractional denominations from the series are particularly rare in this impressive state of preservation due to receiving tremendous use in commerce. Crisp and attractive, this example has only some faint edge handling. The note is sharply printed, broadly margined for the series and shows a nearly full left end indent design. A choice fractional type note. The finest note from the series we have cataloged and sold. Ex: Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society, Heritage Auctions Internet Sale (1/2017). (Description courtesy of Heritage Auctions, ha.com.) Realized $830.73.

- Maryland January 1, 1767 $4 Fr. MD-46. PCGS Very Fine 20 Apparent. The notes from this 1767 series are scarcer than the 1770 and 1774 notes. This example is quite pleasing from the face. It is a departure from most notes that are completely split, often pinned or backed to extend their period in circulation. The imprint of Jonas Green is on the nature print back. Noted with "Edge Splits and Tears; Minor Mounting Remnants on Back." Ex: Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society, Heritage Auctions Internet Sale (1/2017). (Description courtesy of Heritage Auctions, ha.com.) Realized $222.08.

- Georgia September 10, 1777 $1 Fr. GA-114. PCGS Fine 15. Like notes from the June 8, 1777 Resolution, the dollar denominations from this series used color seals. The orange $1 Justice seal note from the Newman Collection is problem-free and splendid for the assigned grade. Complete margins are all around and the appearance is pleasant. Ex: Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society, Heritage Auctions Internet Sale (1/2017). (Description courtesy of Heritage Auctions, ha.com.) Realized $881.25.
