Georgia June 8, 1777 $3/4 Fr. GA-101. PCGS Extremely Fine 40 Apparent. This is a very scarce "sleeper" note. We have only handled two examples of the type, with the last back in 2009. This is in superior condition to both of those, and also to the Boyd Collection note sold at Ford X in May 2005 for $1,045. Sharply printed and with wide sheet margins on the bottom and right end. Noted with some "Splits and Tears; Repairs." Those faults are noted from the back, but the face is quite appealing. Ex: Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society, Heritage Auctions Internet Sale (1/2017). (Description courtesy of Heritage Auctions, ha.com.) Realized $1057.50.
