Fr. 737 $1 1918 Federal Reserve Bank Note PCGS Very Fine 20. Embossing is visible on this attractive, moderately circulated Kansas City $1. The appealing Eagle with Flag vignette on the back was engraved by Robert Ponickau (1846-1920). Several of his other engravings featured eagles as well. He began working at the BEP on Oct. 16, 1893. Low numbers from this district appear to be quite elusive, with Track & Price listing only one such offering during the past decade; that piece, bearing serial number H00000002A and graded Choice New 64 fetched over $3,000. Paris, MO - $5 Original Fr. 399a The First NB Ch. # 1803 PCGS Very Fine 20 Apparent. First Charters only from this Paris bank, the first of three to issue in this small county seat community. The National Bank Note Census shows just five examples, all $1 notes, with only one grading as high as Fine. Most have been closely held for years, with Track & Price reporting only two offerings at public sale since 1990. This example is the first $5 to surface from this institution, and, as an Original Series $5, is a scarce type from a Missouri bank.
