Colony of Connecticut March 26, 1761 30 Shillings Fr. CT-135. PCGS Choice New 63. Another Connecticut Colonial note rarity in excellent condition. Commencing in 1755, the Connecticut bills were designed uniformly. The format was smaller than the "tall" bills of credit prior to 1750. Printed on laid paper by Timothy Green, New London, with his imprint on the back in a cartouche surrounded by a block of ornaments with winged angel heads. Intricate bordering on the face includes floral motifs and cornucopias. An emblem is at the lower left. A genuine 30 shilling note and the first we have cataloged. Boyd's note from the series was a 40 shilling contemporary counterfeit. The grade is extraordinary, and this elite note represents another outstanding opportunity to obtain a type that is perhaps offered once in a generation. Ex: Eric P.
