Description:: Gold coin case with two coin stacks, engraved E G on cover. Interior engraved text "So lang 'noch Gold die Dose spendet, / Sie nie dier Schritt nach Haus gewendet. / Barranco. 26. Nov. 1911 Die drei Hamburger." This loosely translates "As long as gold administers the dose [ie. gold is freely available], your step will never be turned to home. Barranco, Nov. 26, 1911, the three Hamburgers [residents of Hamburg, Germany]." Barranco is an old and famous Lima (Peru) neighborhood frequented by tourists, so this piece may commemorate travel from Europe to South America.
