£3,000 in Old Tenor Bills of Credit issued pursuant to the May 1746 Act for use as small change. The same small faceplate dated July 10, 1733 and redated Oct. 1735 had "May 8, 1746" added without changing the other dates. The latest date was included in typeset text on the backs. Lower denomination backs also included provision for circulation of quarter sections of bills by including in each quandrant "Quarter of 2s & 6d. Seven-pence-half-penny" or similar appropriate language. Printed by Timothy Green. These bills used the same signers as the prior issue plus John Chester. By the Act of May 1747 no bills of other colonies were permitted to circulate in Connecticut. All Connecticut paper money issues were redeemable with copper and silver coin sent by the Crown in 1749 as repayment for the expenses of the Cape Breton or Louisbourg expedition. By the May 1753 Act the Connecticut Treasury was not to pay out any further paper currency.
