An Otoe-Missouria-Kiowa from Yukon, Oklahoma, deana is a political science graduate of Oklahoma University. deana's Kiowa name is translated "Traveling Through Life With the Ten Medicine Gods of the Kiowa." Dressed in traditional Otoe clothing, she wears an 1857 Peace Medal belonging to her grandfather, Moses Harragarra, last hereditary chief of the Otoe. deana held the first Miss Indian Oklahoma title.
