Alan V. Weinberg comments: So rare that Joe Levine didn't have this type Agric. Soc. Medal listed in his computer data records. Obverse: CHESTER COUNY AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY, around a sheaf of wheat, with *1854 PENNA:* below. Reverse: AWARDED TO (engraved) James Ingram/East Bradford/Chester County Pa/Best Five Bushels/Corn/1874, all within an open wreath of wheat (?) and corn. Plain edge.

Alan V. Weinberg comments: I bought this medal in an antique shop in Chester England in the 1990's. It had just come in with a long, heavy gold necklace with approx 15 gold nuggets suspended with gold labels on each nugget identifying the South Africa mine origin of each nugget. Price for the necklace $3,000 US. I wanted this miner pictorial silver medal only. The shop promptly sold the necklace and contacted me that the buyer didn't want the medal and I bought it. Nuts! I should have bought the necklace- it was a beauty - but it wasn't American so I turned it down which I regret to this day.

Alan V. Weinberg comments: I've seen one other in Bob Slawsky's possession at a FUN show which he promptly sold. There may be one other in the Dr. Ira Rezak (NYC) numismatic Judaica private coll'n, altho that may well be the Slawsky specimen which sold.

Alan V. Weinberg comments: These large, heavy impressively designed speeding locomotive medals are available in silver. I've seen perhaps 10-12 in silver. More in brz.
