Early Paper Money of America (NNP Edition)|Part of £46,634 5s in indented Bills of Credit issued pursuant to the June 14, 1726 Act to replace outstanding bills of the prior issues, particularly the 40s and £5 which had been counterfeited. This necessitated engraving new face and back plates. The new back plate has an elaborately detailed leaf and bird design. The same signers appear as on the prior issue.
