Early Paper Money of America (NNP Edition)|The Washington Bank was incorporated in Rhode Island during the June 1800 Session with a capital of $50,000 divided into 1,000 shares of $50 each with the right to increase its capital to $150,000. The bank notes were engraved by Amos Doolittle of New Haven. The notes are the first paper money to contain a vignette of George Washington.
