Early Paper Money of America (NNP Edition)|$535,111 1/9 in Bills ratified pursuant to the Jan. 13, 1776 Resolve to replace the July 26, 1775 issue and for military purposes. These were redeemable in specie by Jan. 1, 1786 at Sterling rates. Borders on the face were engraved on copper in Philadelphia with an Emblem on the back with the motto SUB CLYPEO (under divine protection) and a shield. Printed by Frederick Green. Signers were the same as on the July 26, 1775 issue plus Henry Bannon, Thomas Gassaway, Jr., Frederick Green, Nicholas Harwood, Alexander Irvine, and Charles Irvine.
