Hey All,
I just read something kind of interesting and was wondering if I could draw a comment.
In the "Rutland Historical Society" Quarterly, Volume IX No. 4, Fall 1979, this issue was devoted to one subject titled "Currency and Coins from Vermont's Period of Independence" by Sanborn Partridge, president, Rutland Historical Society, 1980.
In paragraph one, starting on line two, he states "There are over four hundred known varieties of counterfeit half-pennies from England alone". How did he know this? Did he read it somewhere? Did he have over four hundred? Food for thought.
