It was previously owned by a recently retired collector who casually
collected counterfeit halfpence and farthings, along with the other
coins that he collected. This side collection of counterfeits
consisted of app. 25 pieces. The collection was bought by a dealer
who in turn offered me the collection intact. As far as I know, these
were accumulated over several decades, most them not having seen the
light of day for the past 20 years. The gentleman was obviously way
ahead of his time!
