    Hi Steve.=20

I used to own that coin. I feel that it=C2=A0is a contemporary cast counter=
feit. I have only seen two minor denomination cob counterfeits. The other w=
as a 1719 struck two reales.

Get yourself a copy of Cobs, pieces of eight and treasure coins by Seward M=

0the best book on cobs that I have ever read and it has tons of images.

    Hey Steve,

    =C2=A0

You inadvertently sent your reply to the Span-Am eGroup, from part two of m=
    y question about the 1727 ctft 2R I asked.=20

    =C2=A0=20
The image you attached is AK-60, this is in fact a 1752 dated piece. It is =
confusing and a bit ambiguous and I can surely see how bill got confused bu=
t nonetheless I believe this one is dated 1752. When I take a pic of my new=
1762 I will post it, it is I believe without a doubt dated 1762, the new o=
    ne that is.=20
    =C2=A0=20
Not to be confusing I hope but attached is my AK-60, 1752. Go ahead and zoo=
    m in on the 5.=20

I saw the coin you got. Nice one. I think Anton's coin in looks pretty good=
though. What's wrong with it. I've attached a pic. Doesn't look like there=

Hello all.=C2=A0 I have been catching up and will share a few images.=C2=A0=
The first is a fairly rare Virginian and newly discovered since Newman's p=
apers on Virginians.=C2=A0 It is called a 16-U and it is a great example.=
=C2=A0 The second is for John L. and is a 1751 Defiant head.=C2=A0 The obve=
rse andf reverse is know.=C2=A0 I have not checked to see if the pairing is=
known.=C2=A0 I am pretty sure John is working away on a paper on these sin=
ce these are one of his favorite families. The 75104 is only of interest si=
nce is is a full metal turn.=C2=A0 This is fairly unus
ual in the non regals in my experience and the price was right.=C2=A0 Thje =
f5301 is a faerthing with a George III obverse but the unusual date of 1753=
    - I have not seen any other farthings with this date though I am sure Davi=
