    Hi Guys,
I'm currently reading an interesting diary of a woman who is travelling from Boston to New Haven in 1704 (about). She made reference to paying someone a half a piece of Eight and a dram. What coin would have been referred to by a Bostonian around 1700 as a "dram"? Can anyone help?
