    Hi Guys,
I just recently watched two movies on TV about Elizabeth I of England. What an interesting person!!! My British collection starts with her as coins of her reign have been frequently found in Jamestown and elsewhere, And I need to have a starting point. James I might be more logical in that he was King during the settlement of Jamestown in 1607. If the movies were correct to history, Elizabeth I had a "fling" with Sir Walter Raleigh? And both Raleigh and Francis Drake were part of the British force that defeated the Spanish Armada? Elizabeth seemed to be a woman not to be trifled with and England prospered under her reign. Philip II of Spain was portrayed as being a "religious fanatic" (if I may) and a little insane. I wonder if the Vatican was really as portrayed in the movies. Both movies I watched starred Cate Blanchett as Elizabeth, in two successive parts of her life.

    Ray
