Definizione

• A general name in modern parlance for the coins of Alexander the Great and those bearing the type of this monarch's coinage. The designation for these pieces in ancient times was Alexan- dreioi. See Babelon, Traite des monnaies grecques et romain .es. 1901-04 (i, 482).
