Bio

• Born at Burlington, Vermont. Received Congressional gold medal for saving the lives of five children who fell through the ice of Lake Champlain on February 12, 1941.
  At age 11, the youngest person to receive a Congressional Gold Medal.
  Married to Shirley Rose Thompson with one son. He served in the U. S. Army 1951 to 1955, Employed with Maltex Corporation, maker of breakfast cereals.
