Wilson, Joseph Publique Deposited
Born in Canton, St. Lawrence County, New York. He moved to New York City in 1842. He studied under Salathiel Ellis and became a partner in the firm of Ellis and Wilson. He moved from New York to Washington in 1848. There he worked as a cameo cutter. Studied in Europe 1851 to 1854. He died in New York City.
Wilson produced dies used for the reverse of several Indian Peace medals.
