Employed as curator of Greek coins at the British Museum 1991 to 1998. Named a Numismatic Ambassador in 2002. She served on the Citizens Coinage Advisory Commission 2003 to 2007.
Executive Director of the American Numismatic Society after June 12, 1999. She resigned November 1, 2019. In 2020 she was named President of the ANS.
In 2021 she was on the Coin World list of The Most Influential People in Numismatics 1960-2020.
