Obverse Description: A portrait bearing the likeness of a Native American in full headdress framed by the words UNITED STATES OF AMERICA around the periphery. The date is centered at the bottom under the portrait.
Reverse Description: The reverse bears the denomination of ONE CENT in the center surrounded by a wreath bearing a ribbon with arrows tied in at the bottom center.
General Notes: The mintage drops a little bit to 1,725 for the 1906 proof Indian Cent; yet, it is still too high to be anything more than a type coin. Very common with the brown color designation. Gradually more scarce in red-brown especially in PR66 or finer. Red gems are rare and any cameo is rare as well. Look for attractively toned brown pieces or blazing red surfaces as those are the most desirable and are not too tough to find.
