Edward Cogan sales, 1858-1879

Edward Cogan, the "father of American coin collecting," was active in the auction business from 1858 to 1879.  John Adams (United States Numismatic Literature, Vol. 1) recorded 70 sales for Cogan. About half of these have been scanned at the ANS and are now available on NNP under Library / Auction Companies / Edward Cogan.
