19th Century Auction Catalogs
We have installed several hundred 19th century auction catalogs on NNP, which have been scanned either in St. Louis (from the Hamelberg collection), or in New York at the American Numismatic Society. The set of Woodwards is near complete with only eight missing, while the Chapmans (both Samuel and Henry individually as well as the combined firm) are largely complete with a number missing under Samuel Chapman. Many of the Chapmans are bid book copies from the Hamelberg collection, showing both the price realized and the name of the winning bidder (and in some cases underbidders as well). Frossards are nearly complete. We will continue to fill the missing holes in the collection, and to add other early American catalogers.
