Early Paper Money of America (NNP Edition)|About £8,650 in small bills authorized by Ordinance passed on July 21, 1788 was to be held for exchange on or after August 16, 1788 for all prior small bills, but in the meanwhile to be loaned out at interest on real estate security in order to avoid loss of the bills by fire or other casualty. None of the bills have been located.
