£12,000 in Bills were issued for the construction of the Cape Henlopen Lighthouse, piers and buoys, pursuant to the Feb. 20, 1773 Act. A cast cut of a lighthouse is on the back with the denomination incised. See August 10, 1739 issue for spelling type style variations. Printed by Hall & Sellers on paper containing blue thread and mica flakes. Detector bills are on blue paper. Signers were Charles Jervis, Henry Keppele, Jr., Frederick Kuhl, Benjamin Schoemaker, John Steinmetz, and Jacob Winey, with three signers with one signature in red ink. Numbering usually in red ink.
