Neil,
I am using a Epson Perfection 1200U. The U refers to USB. It costs
around $250. I love it. It can scan at 1200 dpi at 6.5 msec per color
line. It is capable of sub scanning at 2400 dpi. It has one button
operation which launches its TWAIN driver. It works very well.
