    I still think it makes a great story. Perhaps the story could be
    made more ambiguous ("a major auction house", and "a leading
    certification service"). I think it shows the power of a forum such
    as this.

    By the way, I don't "blame" the auction house at all. It is standard
    practice in the coin business to consider all PCGS/NGC/ANACS etc.
    genuine.

    No grading service is perfect -- certainly in respect to grading(!),
    but also in respect to authenticity. They set aside monies to be
    paid out for such occasions. I think it is important to follow up
    with PCGS so they don't certify any more of these. If this hobby
    wants to remain self-policing, it is our obligation to do all we can
    to insure these steps are taken.
