Hi Jeff,
I believe that we have discussed this in the group in past postings and a g=
eneral consensus was that likely a few farthings, counterfeit or genuine, p=
robably did circulate in the Colonial/Confederation eras. I don't believe t=
here was a great need for this denomination except to 'round out the books,=
' as it were. Undoubtedly a few did make their way across though. Counterfe=
it halfpence was probably the most common coin found in circulation during =
these times though. Perhaps other group members may wish to expound further=
?
