Hi Morris!
That 18-J was a nice looking coin from the scan. It looks to me as
though the reserve bid wasn't met and I'd imagine that the reserve was
probably more than a dozen times the closing bid. That's one of my pet
peeves about ebay. There's a large company in CA that has high grade
colonials and starts them off at $100 and tells you that it catalogs at say
$4500. I've never found out, but I think their reserve price is close to
the catalog price. Why not just start the coin at 10% below what you want
for it? It seems to be a waste of time - mine and theirs. Also on ebay, I
wish the ebay police would recognize that guy selling "1787 Fugio Cent with
Display Case - BUY IT NOW" is actually selling reproductions. I guess he
has every right to be there, but I'm sure tired of looking at it. If anyone
is successful in getting that 18-J, I'd like to see it in the copper at the
next C4 Convention.
