Never having seen one, I can only relate the opinion of those far wiser th=

Maybe NOT! In our closet we have Ryder 5 which has been called a contempor=
ary struck counterfeit. Somewhere along the way we ended up with another co=
unterfeit but this one is cast. There are those who want to count this coin=
separately, therefore we have:

BUT then again the cast counterfeit was suspected of coming on the scene ca=
1865?? Does this belong in the cabinet? I really don't think so, especiall=
y after the rash of counterfeits of the counterfeit that appeared in the la=
st part of the 20th century! My feeling is that too much doubt surrounds th=

MOREOVER, There are those who have said that the landscape coin was changed=
because the people of Vermont did not accept this design. (I strongly disa=
gree with this theory, but lets say it is true.) Why would a counterfeiter=
spend all of his time producing coins that the people did not accept? Let'=
s throw out the struck Ryder 5. We now have:
