John:
I had a look at the CG 8/86:1800 lot description. The cataloguer at
the time described the piece as over a large cent of the 1793-early
96 weight standard and said it also bore the hub impression of the
obverse of Low 23 on the eagle side of the Mott. The weight appears
to be correct as you repeat it and the Low 23 impression is clear
even in a photocopy of the lot description. You need to address
these observations, don't you think? I also feel your Heritage
article should have made clear (it wasn't to me) that its
illustrations are of two different coins, not the obverse and
reverse of one.
