Just some thoughts on the ANA today Thursday-August 1:

The Mott Token talk went very well. The ANA taped my talk and will
make five copies avaialble to me soon. I will donate one to C4. David
Bowers viewed the 1986 Coin Galleries Anton Mott piece and says he
has some more information he will share with me on a future article.
He did indicate he had some historical corrections for Rulau's
article in Numismatic News. He was very interested in this topic when
I talked with him at the ANA and says he has stockpiled some new
information to support the hard times period attribution.

The ugly '8' is in limbo. Most felt it was damaged or retooled. Bill
and myself feel otherwise. Its now in the hands of the next owner,
whenever that will be to determine its fate. For now its V.20-87C.
    Period. I'm done...

The colonials went pretty well at Superior. Mint red pieces even for
Kentucky's or Virginia Halfpennies were SUPER strong. Common 'Type'
mint state colonials are a big draw in the marketplace today. So what
    else is new.

Bill Anton agreed to consign a group of contemporary counterfeits to
C4 auction in November. About 50 specimens. I will try to get a
diverse group, no reserves and of different price levels.

The C4 meeting went well. Ray W. I am sure will report the highlights
    very soon.

    Later...
