I sat next to Norris at the last Goldberg sale -
Legend has it he was Ira and Larry's high school math teacher. Congenial
fellow, something like 72, told me he had been collecting since 1940 or so.
Over the last 2 years he bought many (most?) of the very high grade colonials
offered by Goldberg and / or Superior - including the Sommer Islands Shilling,
New York Excelsior, A Myddleton, a Franklin Press in 65, etc., etc., wich he
subsequently sold off over the last 3 or so Goldberg auctions.
At Atlanta in 2001 Goldberg had the majority of his pieces on diplay and I
looked at all of them and made a complete list - I'll post it separately if
anyones interested.
