Dan, I think that this sort of rigorous approach is needed in order to verify the multitude of diverse results that will certainly be coming out over the next few years, as these analysis techniques are used at an increasing rate. Until the limits of the analysis are explored in depth, including the effects of various treatments, such as Blue Ribbon, the results will always be questioned - as they should be. I think the correlation coifficients of multiple readings on the same coin will also be of importance. Perhaps, rather than rushing into gathering a whole lot of data on multiple coin types, at this point we should be gathering data on the accuracy of the measurements. I think it will be of importance to get this data. Roger
