Hi Roger!
Thanks for the comments. I'd appreciate any pedigree history of the 3-C
other than Steinberg and Robison, if you know of any. In place of a Club
Dinner, we did have the reception on Thursday night - any food in that hotel
is EXTREMELY expensive for the club. I don't know how we could work out the
logistics and costs of a dinner - we did it one year and the club had to
financially gauranty payment for a certain number... It went okay but that
was instead of a C4 Reception. If we had a C4 Reception as usual on Thurs
night, we could just possibly have some light snacks there for an informal
gathering from 7:00 til about 9:00, then we could all just head to the hotel
restaurant. At 9:00 on a Thurs night, I don't believe we'd have any
difficulty getting the maybe 30 members seated, it would require no
financial obligations and everyone could order their dinner and pay for it.
We could warn the restaurant that we might have X amount of members at a
certain time so they might be able to keep one end available for us... It's
a thought. Hopefully most people travelling will have arrived by 9:00
anyway. Just some thoughts... Dennis, are you out there listening? Your
thoughts?
