Hello Ray and Verne,
I bought a GMM Deerhead at either the first or second C4. As I
recall Dennis W. had a list of 10 GMM oddities. They were sold (i.e.
auctioned) for the benefit of the club. The story about the deerhead
was that it had missed hardening, such that it failed quickly in
use. I don't know how many were made. Very few I think. I don't
recall what the reverse is but I think it is a normal shield
reverse. I'll locate it and any info I have. Let me know what you'd
like to know. I could photograph it too. But I probably won't get to
that too soon. Of the 10 lots, this was among the most expensive.
But it my opinion, it was the pick of the litter. (So was my wife.
Her sister is unmarried, btw. With good reason IMHO). Sorry about
that editorial comment. Fortumately neither she nor my wife do
eGroup.
Regards, Buell Ish
